Wire Erosion

AJH Precision uses state of the art five axis wire erosion machines for its own tool and equipment manufacture.

We also offers a sub contract service to other toolmakers and precision machinists.

Wire edm is a process whereby a wire typically .100 to .250 mm in diameter is electrically charged at a very high voltage, and used to cut precision shapes in prismatic components. The wire is tensioned and passed through an upper and lower diamond guide as it cuts. There are numerous advantages to wire edm machining, such as the ability to cut very precisely in difficult to machine materials, and cut tapers that would be virtually impossible to achieve with any other machining process.

For example, the upper guide and lower guide can move independently thus cutting one geometric shape on top of a part and another geometry on the bottom of the part.
